Work in Progress~2
A second look at the triptych still in progress. Here I've added a new layer of oil paints and varnishes mixed with acrylic and water color. There are also some spatters of hot wax thrown in for good measure. The varnish reacted to its thick, haphazard application with wrinkles that lend an interesting texture to the trio. The three paintings, each 18"X24" were in a little different sequence in the first vid but I think the viewer is still able to recognize each one and note their transformations. Here you can begin to see the way light plays through layer after layer on its way down to the masonite's surface then bounces back to the viewer in the same busy fashion. The texture invites touch and keeps the eye busily scanning the field.
