Extended Matt Smith Interview - Doctor Who Confidential: The Eleventh Doctor - BBC One

http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho Matt Smith has been cast in the role of the Doctor in the iconic BBC series Doctor Who. Smith will be the 11th Time Lord and will take over from David Tennant who leaves at the end of 2009. He will be seen in the forthcoming fifth series that will be broadcast in 2010. He is so adorable :) He seems very excited about the role and very energetic. I think he'll bring a lot to the part. I feel bad that everyone is being so hard on him. I mean, I loved David Tennant too but we have to give Matt a chance. It's always hard to "lose" a doctor (you grow rather attached to them) but I think we've gained a great one.	thepurposeofpeace

I agree with the last two posters. Let's give Matt Smith at least one episode before we judge him. Every time since Peter Davison (my childhood Doctor) it has been the same. The Doc was brilliant; no-one can ever replace him; the series is doomed, etc., etc., . I don't feel that this time. Yes; I mourn the Tenth Doctor. But Matt Smith is so alive with energy, life, and fiery acting ability. He IS the Eleventh Doctor. And he will be just wonderful. Good luck to him.	RoonJazz

David Tennant was a excellent doctor, and i think Matt Smith is going to be really good too. i wish him the best of luck- like david was the best doctor of his time and now.... matt smith will be the best doctor of his time. If he does a little bit of what david tennant did then he'll be just as good. (david tennant will always be remembered though)	rosieking2000
I must say I was growing tired of Tennant. It became lifeless to be fair, I found there wasn't enough "drama" that appealed to me. But now Smith has taken the reins, I'm very excited. He seems absolutely adorable. I think we'll be in for some great surprises as he's Doctor. :D:D:D:D x	OldishMusic

people need to stop dissing matt smith. if he wasn't "worthy" to play the doctor then he wouldn't have been cast. tennant was an AMAZING doctor so he definitely as big shoes to fill but i think soon everyone will warm up to him...hopefully	xmirza57
