Superfluid helium

Superfluid helium: boiling without bubbles, flowing through ceramics and "creeping" along vessel's surface (dripping at the end). This is part of "Sonda", Polish popular-scientific program broadcasted in 1980's

its both the unique beaker has capillaries that are a fraction of a micron, which it flows through, if there are none the helium flows around the objectcrispier92

Wrong, liquid helium does not float, but it does exhibit some curious properties (but nothing to do with floating). Search Liquid Helium II: The Superfluid for more.roguehearts

THIS VIDEO IS CRAP...........FUNKIN THE LANGUAGE IS MESSED UP.....thats the reason why its retardedguicapone2
seriously. but id imagine its as heavy ml for ml as styrofoam, definitely lighter than water.Pimpmastahanhduece
Actually it can do both. The helium can fall strait trough a beaker, through spaces a fraction of a micron. It can also, because of zero viscosity, run up and out of a container.sBrown345
idiot. helium only floats because its lighter, less dense, than air, so it wants to rise above it. liquid helium would be much more dense, its a fucking liguid...byronpaulson

the liquid helium isn't flowing through the beaker, but it passes it because of zero viscosity.hxasmirl
Doesn't helium float? o.o I'd think that the liquid version would too... That's just me... When i first heard of liquid helium i was like 'Wow, floating liquid'Blaize180
cool liquidrochelimit55555
Actually the helium is flowing around the sides to find its own level.upsbrown620
what the hell. the liquid flows through the beaker? thats awesome.disturbedone5009
This is very interesting stuff.. the mercury based plasma super conductive therofluid is interesting as well.. cooled to 150 kelvin pressurized to 200,000 atmopsheres rotating in a quasi crystalline donut shaped container can apparently cause mass gravity effect to cancel itsselfPlaedianToolFan

actually it isnt. The helium once reaching a certain tempurate, i think its 2.17 something kelvin or whatever, it reaches it's "lambda" point. it then has the effect of reaching it's own level, or something, and thus the glass emptying itself. (the helium creeps up the sides)Shadowflame324

I love the 1950s "Forbidden Planet" style music theme in the background :PRyuDarragh
10 sekunda... StanBorys
Yes, but this is "faktem", this word is declension of "fakt", and in English means "in fact".StanBorys
